Brittany Minna, MA, LMFT

A sanctuary for inner work,
shaped by sessions

Depth-oriented psychotherapy for adults and couples — exploring what lies beneath the surface so that healing, growth, and lasting change become possible. In-person in Newport Beach and via telehealth throughout California.

Sessions Psychotherapy iceberg — above and below the surface

What has been carrying meaning — often silently — asks to be understood before it can change.

Portrait Placement

The parts of ourselves that went unseen are waiting, quietly, to be known.

My passion and interest for this work was born from the tremendous amount of relief I know can come with understanding the deeper parts of the unconscious. My wish is to provide a safe space for my clients to explore themselves, in hopes to provide them with understanding necessary to create change and minimize suffering.

I will help my clients understand their earliest relationships to help them identify how those experiences may be impacting their current life. I believe by bringing awareness to what lies deep within, my clients will have a better opportunity to make positive change in their lives.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in individual and couples therapy. I completed my undergraduate studies at Purdue University where I received a BA in Sociology. I went on to earn my Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant University.

The unconscious is not a problem to solve — it is a story to hear.

Brittany Minna, LMFT

What we experience on the surface — our symptoms, emotions, reactions, and struggles — is only a small part of a much larger whole. Beneath awareness lies a deeper landscape of early relational experiences, unconscious beliefs, and patterns that quietly shape how we live and relate today. This is the terrain we explore together.

Through a psychodynamic approach, we work collaboratively to bring into awareness what remains unseen — the underlying emotional processes, early experiences, and internalized patterns influencing your present-day thoughts, behaviors, and relationships — so that healing, growth, and lasting change become possible.

I offer a sanctuary for inner work — a space to slow down and gently bring into awareness what operates beneath the surface. As deeper layers become conscious, clarity and agency emerge.

Common
Questions

The first session is a chance for us to meet, for you to share what's bringing you to therapy, and for me to begin understanding your history and what you're hoping for. It's also an opportunity to get a sense of how it feels to be in the room with me. There's no pressure to share everything at once — we move at a pace that feels right for you.

Yes. I see clients both in-person at my Newport Beach office (1101 Dove Street, Suite 260) and via secure telehealth throughout California — whatever is most comfortable for you. Many clients find telehealth a deeply effective option.

Yes — I work with both individuals and couples. Couples sessions are $225 and focus on relational patterns, communication, intimacy, and the deeper dynamics shaping the partnership. Whether you come alone or together, the approach is always collaborative and depth-oriented.

I am an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly. I am happy to provide a monthly superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement, depending on your out-of-network benefits. I encourage you to contact your insurance ahead of time to understand your coverage.

Absolutely. My practice is a fully affirming and welcoming space for gay, lesbian, bisexual, queer, non-binary, and transgender individuals and couples. I am allied with all members of the LGBTQ+ community and work with clients across the full spectrum of identities, orientations, and relationship structures.

This is a depth-oriented practice, which means I work best with clients interested in longer-term exploration rather than short-term symptom relief alone. That said, the length of therapy is always a collaborative conversation. Some people work with me for a year; others for much longer. We check in regularly about how things are going.

For Corporate Teams

Sessions at Work

Depth-oriented wellness programming for leadership teams, HR partnerships, and employee wellness initiatives. Real conversations about burnout, meaning, relational dynamics at work, and the inner life of high-performers. Offered as lunch-and-learns, small group sessions, or ongoing consulting engagements.

For Students

Sessions on Campus

Workshops and groups for high school and college students navigating identity, transitions, relationships, academic pressure, and the unconscious inheritance of family expectations. Adaptable for student health centers, counseling departments, Greek life, and athletic programs.
